Welcome to Whitecroft Farm and the beautifully secluded holiday cottages of Myrtle and Rose. Nestled toward the top of a small valley with views toward the Solway Firth and The Lake District beyond, Whitecroft Farm is a traditional Dumfries and Galloway small holding.
For those that know it, Dumfries and Galloway is a rare gem of quiet roads, friendly people and stunning scenery. It’s these qualities that make it shine and make those visiting for the first time wonder why you haven’t been here before.

‘We had a wonderful time here. Beautiful and very peaceful location on a small farm. The owners Hilary and Mark were always friendly and helpful and made us feel very much at home. The cottage is well equipped and cosy, and we enjoyed the welcome basket, which included fresh eggs, milk, and local beer. Lots to do locally and a very nice part of the world to visit. From feeding the baby lambs at the farm, to walking by the sea and stargazing at night – we had a wonderful time and would certainly come back to this cottage. A home away from home. Thank you!’

What do I do on a rare afternoon away from Whitecroft Farm and Myrtle and Rose Cottages .... having fun on my onward journey to creatively utilise the fleece and fibre from my wonderful (growing flock) of carefully bred and tended sheep, here at Whitecroft Farm in the South West of Scotland's Galloway hills and Colvend coast. So very grateful to Eden Textiles Studio Wendy Erskine and also Steph Harrison for being so patient and generous with their time, and their willingness and ability to share their knowledge and skills (which is vast and inspirational). I'm really looking forward to further developing my flock and the wonderful creative uses for their fleece and fibre. Thank you for this amazing opportunity. ... See MoreSee Less

Whitecroft Mochi and Whitecroft Moonbeam
And here is a pic of Whitecroft Mochi, part of his fleece (shorn in September) has been used to make the items in the above photos. Mochi (whose a friendly, cheeky chappie!) is last years' lamb, a cross between one of our Herdwick ewes, (Coniston), and our homebred full Blacknose Swiss Valais ram, Whitecroft King-Kong.
