Rockcliffe – Kippford – Rockcliffe
ACTIVITY TYPE : Walk
TIME : 1 hour
DISTANCE : 2.5 miles (circular)
One of South West Scotland’s hidden gems! This circular walk starts from the breathtaking Rockcliffe along a mainly coastal path to Kippford. The path to Kippford does undulate so it’s probably wise not to do it in your finest shoes. Take a short detour to the stunning Woodland Trust Tree of The Year 2021. This windblown hawthorn sits at the top of a beach comprised of nothing but cockle shells and rocks.
Take a break in your walk by resting for tea at The Ark or a lunch and pint at The Anchor Hotel in Kippford.
The return leg climbs up the hill and is via the Jubilee Walk which takes in spectacular mixed woodland.
